Description
Model by Johann Friedrich Eberlein; the pear-shaped coffee pot with beak spout stands on a flared, curved foot ring and is closed by a high domed lid with a scroll-shaped knob. The handle is formed by the elongated body of a dolphin, whose head clings to the top of the vessel and whose tail ends in a volute at the bottom. The outer vessel is decorated with ribbed scallop relief in the lower area and in the offset upper rim, while the surrounding swan relief appears in the main field. The outside of the lid also bear a ribbed scallop relief and is painted with three ‘Indian’ and scattered flowers in the contrasting rim area as well as in the lower half of the vessel. The painted Brühl-Kolowrat-Krakowsky alliance coat of arms also appears on the lid. The edges of the vessel, the foot and the inner surface of the spout are gilded. The rim of the lid and the pot are additionally decorated with a dotted gold border. While the swan relief remains undecorated, the dolphin's head is coloured blue with black eyes, a yellow-red rimmed mouth and the same fins. The snail shell on the lid is also yellow, red and black striped. Underglaze blue crossed swords.
