Description
Signed on the left, on the rock: „P. v. Dyk. F“; Venus, adorned only with a golden bracelet, sits outdoors on a blue and orange coloured cloth; her head and neck are shaded by a red cloth, which hangs down from a small marble construction under green branches; Cupid lies on the ground and hands an arrow to the goddess; in the background on the right, one can see two nymphs, and farther away, a mountain landscape; the whole picture is executed in smooth and luminous porcelain colours with silver-grey shading.
Provenance

In the reordered exhibition in 1935 (file 3405); extant in the museum in 1943 (1943 catalogue, sheet 151); present location: Pushkin Museum (Objekt 101039, Nr. ЭЖ-865); another, extremely similar version ('sister object') was aquired in 2020 and inventoried as SG 1467.
