Description
3 light fittings, probably electrified in 1897. The animal heads on the sconces are roebuck heads on the one hand and boar heads on the other, which corresponded with the hunting motifs on the chests of drawers and corner cupboards in the room.
Provenance
Dresden Castle, 2nd floor, riding school; Listed in inventory catalogue no. 1 of 31 January 1920 as part of the 1924 settlement agreement between the Free State of Saxony and the former royal house, which were transferred to the state as room inventory marked in red; An exact date of removal is not on record, the measures were completed in the summer of 1944. The mirror sconces were probably removed from storage on 26 April 1944 and taken to the Rammenau Castle relocation site; Nothing is known about the circumstances of the loss of this object. A loss in connection with the events of the 2nd World War is suspected.
