Description
The small oil sketch of a thatched farmhouse with a hipped roof, perhaps the preliminary study for a backdrop for his animal paintings, was created directly in front of nature and shows Heyden's interest in the qualities of colour and light. Inscribed on the bottom right: H. v. H., wooden frame.
