Inventory book's entry: behind it a lake with barges, quite blurred in the background a headland; left front a steep rock, below a bridge men around a campfire; very dark coloring; Signed and dated lower right "Alexander Thiele inv. et pinx. 1724".

The present work was created by Thiele as a counterpart to the painting "Südlicher Hafen bei Tag" (cf. Lost Art-ID 178726).
