Description
Golden ring with black enamel ornaments and a watch whose case is decorated with floral tendrils in black-and-white enamel; two split-offs on one side; signed "Jean V Luit Smid Aug.".
Provenance
Supposedly once owned by elector Frederick the Magnanimous (cf. Inventories 1717, 1764, 1830, 1858), but that is refuted by the dating of the object. [...]. Currently in possession of the Hermitage St. Petersburg (Inv.No. Э-17116).
