Provenance
Formerly in the collection of the Comte Gelozzi, Sold at Sotheby’s on October 16, 1946 (lot 79a) as by an artist of the 16th century Italian School to Hazlitt; the drawing has been reattributed to Vincenzo Tamagni (1492-1530) and was sold at Sotheby’s London on February 19, 1987 (lot 242) as part of the collection of the late Sir John Clermont Witt. It subsequently appeared in C.G. Boerner’s Neue Lagerliste 85 (1987), Nr. 2 and was sent to Artemis Fine Arts in London in 1996 to be sold at auction.
