Medallion with the bust of emperor Rudolf II in profile and the circumscription ("RVDOLPHVS II ROM IMP AVG REX HVN BOE") and the signature ("D.M."), mother of pearl carved in low relief, with gilt silver frame
Provenance
According to the 1858 inventory, the object was bought in 1721 from prince Anton Günther of Schwarzburg-Arnstadt for the sum of 6 thalers [either prince Anton Günther II of Schwarzburg-Arnstadt (1653-1714) is meant and the year is wrong or prince Günther I of Schwarzburg-Sondershausen (1676-1740, ruled since 1721) is meant]
