Description
Half-length portrait on a grey-green ground. The hair with side curls gathered into a braid, the Elector wears a white uniform skirt with red collar and blue ribbon. The painting inscribed on the reverse with C. Graff 1791 probably corresponds in the sense of a copy to Anton Graff's gallery painting of 1795 (Gal. No. 2105). The gilt frame bears bronze palmettes.
Provenance

The painting hung in the saddle room of the Johanneum. Since 1942 it was part of the furnishings of the commander's apartment of Königstein Fortress, where it can still be proven on August 15, 1944.
