Provenance
From the estate of the family of Dr Carl Phillip Genth, spa physician in Bad Langen-Schwalbach/Taunus and is said to have been a gift from the painter Schimon to the spa physician Dr Carl Georg Ludwig Genth Langen-Schwalbach around 1850. Former manor Groß-Schönberg, Wusterwitz/District of Damburg (today Poland); painting probably confiscated by Polish officers in 1945
