Description
Case painted in multicoloured enamels: on the upper side - male portrait [duke Albrecht of Saxe-Coburg], on the underside - Venus and Adonis, after Rubens; inside: landscape depictions; signed: "Baillon Paris".
Provenance
According to the 1858 inventory, the watch used to belong to duke Ernest II. (?) of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha. [...]. Presumably identical with the enamel clock, inv.no. Э-17135, in the possession of the Hermitage St. Petersburg.
