Description
Case and face painted in multicoloured enamels: outside with scenes from the Aeneid, inside with landscapes; corresponding leather outer casing with gold studs; signed: "Goullons Paris".
Provenance
According to the 1830 and 1858 inventories, the watch used to belong to duke Ernest I of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha. [...]. Presumably identical with the enamel clock, inv.no. Э-17137, in the possession of the Hermitage St. Petersburg.
