Description
Colored copperplate engraving in a pewter frame. A female genius and two cherubs with a cornucopia and a basket of flowers at the foot of a wreath-adorned chalice krater. On the front the dedication: „Du kennst, o Bruder! meine Treue! / Hier ist mein Wunsch für Dich: / Des Himmel Gunst erfreue / Dich durch ein Jahr dem noch / kein Jahr an Freuden glich / Und wer Dich kennt, der / liebe Dich / so redlich und getreu, als / ich“.
Provenance
Formerly Museum Neuruppin, former Zieten Collection. During the Second World War, parts of the collection were moved to locations including the Neuruppin District Office and have been considered lost since the end of the war.
