Description
A print in a molded gold frame depicting the equestrian statue of Frederick II in Berlin (by Rauch), inaugurated in 1851. Caption: „DENKMAL FRIEDRICH II. / Geb. 1712. Regiert von 1740-1786“. The view was vividly framed by a crowned floral archway using glued-on wafers, artificial flowers, and leaves.
Provenance
Formerly Museum Neuruppin, former Zieten Collection. During the Second World War, parts of the collection were moved to locations including the Neuruppin District Office and have been considered lost since the end of the war.
