Provenance
Originally owned by claimant's father who resided at Schwindtgasse 12, Vienna and mentioned in an inventory of property that he attempted to take with him to Paris when he fled in 1938. Claimant's father was forced to sell the painting prior to leaving Austria. The picture went through Galerie St. Lucas and subsequently to the German art dealer Hans Bammann in Duesseldorf.
