Description
Painting with gilded frame. The sitter is wearing an olive-colored dress with lace, a red ermine coat, sitting; her right arm is resting on a cushion, on top of which is the electoral hat.
Provenance
Listed in the Gardemeuble catalogue of paintings; In inventory list no. 1 from 31 January 1920; Part of the settlement agreement between the Free State of Saxony and the former royal house from 1924; On the list of art objects of particular value, drawn up by the head of the revenue office, Hugo Bahr, and the castle administrator Johannes Bibrach from 6 May 1942 under ‘Vorzimmer, frz. Galerie’. The painting was evidently part of the transport of furnishings to Schleinitz Castle near Meissen on 16 and 17 August 1943; According to the records, it was lost at the relocation site.
