Description
signed: H. Leys f. 1857; in the catalogues until 1878 "Dürer in Antwerpen den Erasmus malend" (Dürer painting Erasmus in Antwerp). The historical scene took place in Rotterdam in 1520. Leys moved it to the room of the town clerk Aegidius of Antwerp.
Provenance
Taken over in 1861 with the collection of Consul Wagener; lost in 1945 in the flak tower Berlin Zoo, today in the Hermitage, St. Petersburg
