Description
The chalice takes the shape of a hexagonal turret decorated with six filials and a cross; the foot consists of six lobes and is decorated with a hexagonal knob which bears the inscription: i h e c u s.
Provenance
According to the 1858 inventory, the ciborium belonged to duke Ernest I. of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha and came to the Kunstkabinett in 1836.
