Description
Sexfoil-shaped foot, the six flower-shaped rotulae on the node/knob; on the stem above and below the node, revolving inscriptions "ihesus" and "maria"; on the underside of the foot, inscription with the founder "wopeld(esche)", date "1493" and the indication "23 Lot", on the foot a plate supplemented in the 17th century with further founder inscription "H Barthol Moller B" (Hamburg mayor Barthold Moller 1605-1667) and his coat of arms.
Provenance
Property of the church Zahrensdorf, Mecklenburg. Until 1938 mentioned in all inventories of the church. 1939 handed over to Dr. Konrad Hüseler, director of the Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe in Hamburg, for temporary scientific processing. [...]. 2019 in the Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe, Hamburg neither the chalice nor any evidence of it found; whereabouts unknown.
