Description
Sixfoil-shaped foot with open-work latticework and a circular medallion; the medallion depicts the head of Christ with long hair and beard, as well as a halo with three rays; the node is made up of a cluster of six protruding pointed windows, flanked and topped by Gothic pillars and tracery; at the top and bottom, the node is framed by six small leaves respectively, each with a letter in relief; the cup is held on the surface by oak leaves in openwork relief; the bulging lower part is set with two rows of circular medallions made from twined wire, filled with green enamel and a white dot in the centre; with about half of the medallions, this enamel is missing and a red-brown undercoat (wax?) is visible; on the rim of the cup, a broken piece has been re-inserted.
