Description
Six-sided base, ring stand with open-work ornamentation, on the base six applied fields with crucifixion group and 12 apostles, furthermore a coat of arms shield with silver rose in blue, beside it the inscription "hu(n)c calice(m) - tydericus wentorpe", the stem decorated with wrought ring forms, the Rotuln as diamonds with the letters "IhESVS" on blue enamel, in between squares alternating with Madonna and angel; inscription on the underside: "Desse kelk wucht 3 lodige marck vnde 2 loth - 50 Loth", no hallmarks, the founder Diderick Wentorp died on June 3, 1438.
Provenance

Wismar St. Nikolai. With other communion devices since June 9, 1942 of Geistliche Hebungen (the city of Wismar) stored in a box in the safe of the Sparkasse of Wismar. August 16, 1945 opening of the safe by order of the commandant of the Russian troops, confiscation of the interior. Recommendation to the Superior Council of the Church of Mecklenburg, and in this respect to Colonel General Fedjuninski as Chief of the military administration for Mecklenburg. [...]. Whereabouts unknown.
