Provenance

Left behind by claimant's mother when she fled her home at Kronacher Strasse 19, Lichtenfels, Germany in November 1938. She left her sisters behind to pack up the house, but Nazi officers arrived and confiscated the family's art collection as "degenerate" before they could pack it. Some items were later recovered, but this work was not among them.
