Description
The area of the painting is completely filled by the yellow and green-gray foliage of the orchids, in between some white, pink and purple flowers. Signed on the bottom left: M. Hartwig (inventory description).
Provenance
Acquired in 1935 by governor Siebert from the Christmas exhibition ‘Art for All’ and transferred to the State Painting Collections; the object was last documented as a loan in the barracks of Pioneer Battalion 3 in Rosenheim and has been considered lost since the end of the war
