Description

A very large mirror with a glass frame, on which emblemata, Latin and French figurines, also war armatures are painted in gold, the frame framed with gilded brasses, together with the same decoration, gilded brass figures on the frames.

Fire- gilded, chiselled brass fittings.

Large Venetian mirror.

Dimensions refer to the individual corner cartouche: (H) 11.4 x (W) 11.4 cm

Provenance
1719 until the war-related removal in 1942 furnishing of the Royal State Apartments (also 2nd coffee room 509); in accordance with the 1924 settlement agreement, the mirrors were transferred to the Free State of Saxony; in 1944 mirrors and mirror parts and wall mirrors were removed from the Dresden Castle to a relocation site (Rammenau or Schleinitz Castle); The wooden substructure of the mirror top has been preserved; Circumstances of loss unknown. A loss in connection with the events of the Second World War is assumed.
