Library collection
Approximately 24 objects. The Franciscan library comes from the Franciscan monastery founded in Brandenburg in 1237. When the monastery was secularized in 1544 and after the convent was dissolved between 1561 and 1573, the library remained in church ownership. The collection is considered a unique example of a still preserved Brandenburg monastery library and a first-class cultural monument. In addition, most of the bindings come from Johannes Hülse, the only bookbinder of the city of Brandenburg known by name from the Middle Ages. Today there are only a few bindings of him left in the Mark Brandenburg.
The books do not bear a title note. (as at 14.2.1990)
