Description
The holder for the Roman glass, most likely originates from northern Germany or the Netherlands. It depicts a rearing horse supported by a tree branch. The cup holder is secured between the front hooves and consists of a three-part, sliding holder, each part ending in a gripping head. The horse is mounted on the metal base. This is hexagonal and delicately decorated with alternating bird and animal mask motifs. The museum's inventory and accession number is written on the underside and also appears on a sticker.
