Snake skin cup
Shield with engraving: "Blessing hands under crown"; two dies, both corrupted and unidentified; coin in the bottom of the cup: "AUGUSTUS HERTZOG ZU BRAUNS U LUNEB"; outside: coat of arms with inscription: "ALLES MIT BEDACHT ANNO 1654 HS" = 1 thaler, Principality of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel (1635 - 1713).
Snakeskin cup, cylindrical shape, slightly convex rim. Smooth rim and base. A thaler is soldered into the base (see above). The medallion, an oval recessed in the outer surface, was apparently filled later: Two hands are engraved beneath a chiselled crown, corresponding to the Jewish religious symbol of the priest's hands blessing. This refers to Kohanim, possibly also in terms of use.
