Recto: top left in plate Star of David, "HS, 1920", below left in pencil signature "Hermann Struck", below right in pencil "146/150", inv. no. "VI b/52/518"; verso: top right in pencil "Denis[?]", top centre "Lovis Corinth", "B"; below right in pencil "47/2261", stamp in blue "Städt. Museum Zeitz".
Provenance
08.12.1951: acquired from the art antiquarian Reinhold Puppel, Quedlinburg (formerly Hollstein & Puppel, Berlin). It is not known when and from whom Reinhold Puppel acquired the print. It cannot be ruled out that the print belonged to the old stock of the aryanised art shop Hollstein & Puppel. Reinhold Puppel deliberately traded in cultural property that had been confiscated as a result of Nazi persecution.
