Description
Black-brown Longcase Clock. The upper and lower parts are only connected by a back panel and at the front by two turned columns. The clock case at the top has a round clock behind a glass window and is crowned with a moulded cornice. The pendulum and weights should hang freely between the clock case and the base. The gilded pendulum shows a sun in the Baroque style, the gilded weights are modelled on pine cones. The weights were lying loosely in the lower part. The clockwork is mounted on a wooden bridge and sits loosely in the clock case. There is a watchmaker's mark on the movement showing the capitals "LFS". In addition, a serial number 2969 is engraved. The back plate, made of brass, shows several clear fingerprints. The watchmaker's mark refers to the Lorenz Furtwängler & Söhne watch factory in the Black Forest.
