Description

On a rectangular green plinth, Godfather stands with open gray hair and a wide red cloak, and with both hands supports the Christ leaning slightly to the left. He wears the green crown of thorns and a white loincloth, and is covered with blood from the face to the legs. At his feet are two angels, the right one with a gilded chalice in his hand, but the chalice of the left angel is lost.

1937: presumably offered at auction in the Kunsthaus Heinrich Hahn, F.a.M as No. 192 "Kleine Alabastergruppe. The Holy Trinity, "Dr. Dr F. E. (?);

after 1937: unknown;

no later than 1954: held by Dr. Benno Griebert, Baierbrunn near Munich;

9.7.1954: Purchase for the Städtische Bodensee-Museum
