Forest landscape with Stag
In the high, ochre to green-brown sedge, between two stones, lies the defeated stag. Behind him, standing to the right, the victor, a black-brown four-toed stag, roaring wildly with steam in front of the stag's mouth. Towering on the right, birch trees with autumn-brown undergrowth overlapping the upper edge of the picture. In the morning silver-grey haze an oak grove on the left, above it the sky with yellow sunlight breaking through. Inscribed at lower left: T. Gaugoux 1895.
On the back of the picture there is a label with the inscription: "Leihgabe an die Straßenverkehrsstelle München / Eigentümer: Präsident Christian Weber"
