Description
Front right flat finish to the lake with "Marterl" and a woman, man and child sitting on the left. On the way in the middle another figure. Behind the lake high mountains. The promontory with groups of trees.
Provenance
1858 creation of the painting by the artist. 1937 Purchase of the painting by the Galerie Heinemann Mrs Franziska (Fanny or Mimi) Heinemann. (Widow of the former owner - untill 1929 - Galerie Heinemann, Theobald Heineman) for 6000.- RM. 1937 Purchase of the painting by the art dealer Haberstock from the Galerie Heinemann for 9.000.- RM. 1937 sale of the painting to the "Reichskanzlei" for 11500.- RM. 1937 acquisition of the painting in the depot of the special mission Linz in Munich. Register under no. 403. 1945 acquisition of the painting from the former depot Arcisstr. 89 in the CCP Munich. Registry under number Mü.7579. 1961 handover of the painting in the departmental assets of the Foreign Office. Amenities Embassy in Rome, Vatican City, Cape Town and Prague. The provenance research is completed. Nazi persecution-related assets loss. Because of gaps in the provenance history is such, however, not be completely excluded.
