Flemish village road

Across the village road running from the centre of the lower edge of the picture to the left, branching off twice to the right, with an approaching two-wheeled horse-drawn cart and driver, the eye is drawn to two farmhouses standing diagonally in the centre of the picture, their thatched roofs shining brightly beneath the tall treetops of the two trees in front of them, and to two views of the landscape with a wooded ridge and two castles. In the middle ground of the rear third of the picture are three more farmhouses, and on the right-hand edge of the picture is another farmhouse.
