Description
Oak body, veneered with walnut. Consists of two parts: The lower part of the chest of drawers and the top of the display case. The lower part of the chest of drawers stands on high curved legs, the edges are designed as semi-circular columns, each of which has two slim drawers. The large drawers at the front are slightly curved; inlays give the optical illusion that each large drawer is divided into three separate drawers arranged next to each other. The illusion is reinforced by brass fittings that look like keyholes but only fulfil decorative functions. The showcase is glazed on the front and side panels and closed by two bar doors. The upper end is curved several times and crowned by a volute with rocailles and leaf decorations.

St. 88/521) Transferred in September 1943 by the OFP Hessen in Darmstadt to the Painting Gallery and the Museum of Antiquities of the City of Mainz (estimated price at transfer: RM 3,000)
