Landscape view of a lake with two rowing boats. In each boat a couple. On the shore a seated couple. On the left foreground is a memorial stone. Provenance
To 1681 creation of the painting by the artist, probably together with another painting with the same title and the same dimensions. Possible acquisition of the painting by Prince Kaunitz (1711-1791). 1922 short appraisal of the painting. 1927 sale of the painting on the 377. Art auction at the Dorotheum Vienna, from the collection "Präsident G." 1943 sale of the painting by the art dealer Otto Buhr, Vienna at the Chancellery for 5500.- RM. There is no evidence of a Nazi persecution-induced loss of assets. Because of gaps in the provenance history, a suspicion can not be ruled out completely.
