Description
Folding table made of mahogany in the style of the late Biedermeier with a fixed table top and a movable table top that is attached to the fixed top with hinges. When folded out, the outer table top and the fixed table top are held in place by the table's substructure through a 45° turn. It has a strong hexagonal central foot with carved acanthus leaf embellishments and foot bases with three curved or volute-shaped projecting legs with rosettes in the centre of the volute. The feet are in turn mounted on a tripartite plinth. On the underside of the fixed table top is an approximately 2 x 3 cm handwritten mark in pencil on an incised rectangle that has been corrected several times. The marking is written with difficulty legibly in cursive and can be interpreted as the term "width", which would indicate a carpenter's marking.
