According to the director of the local court at the time, these documents arrived at the local court building shortly after Dr Herz's deportation to Ausschwitz on 5 August 1943.

Dr Richard Herz (born 1894) came from Rastatt, was single and apparently childless. He worked as a lawyer in Nuremberg and last lived in Fürth. Dr Herz has been missing since his deportation to Auschwitz on 18 June 1943.

The extensive estate (approx. 7 linear metres) focuses on the administration and settlement of the assets of emigrants and deportees.
