History
In 1942, the library and archives of Macica Serbska were confiscated by the Berlin-Dahlem Publications Office and, in 1943, transferred to Lehn in Lusatia along with looted goods from the Baltic region. In 1945, a trophy brigade took almost all non-Sorbian books and large parts of the Macica Serbska archives to the Soviet Union. In 1971, part of the archive was quietly returned to the military archive of the GDR, forwarded from Potsdam to Bautzen and then to the Sorbian Cultural Archive.
