Provenance

Adalbert (Bela) Parlagi acquired the painting from the Albert Kende auction house in Vienna at the sale Privatsammlung und antiken Wohnungs-Einrichtung asu dem Besitze L. u. A. Satori, April 29-30, 1936 (Lot 268, Illustration 17).

In April 1938, Parlagi and his family emigrated from Vienna to London via Switzerland; December 7, 1938, Parlagi put his art collection into storage with the shipping company Zdenko Dworak at their warehouse located in Vienna XVIII, Gersthoferstrasse 8 & 10; the Gestapo confiscated Parlagi’s property from the warehouse and auctioned it through the Vugesta at the Dorotheum in Vienna; the painting was acquired by the Adolf Weinmüller at the Dorotheum sale of June 17-20, 1941 (Catalog Nr. 466, Lot 174).

Current whereabouts unknown.
