History
On April 9, 1946, parts of the assets from Altenburg Castle were handed over in Altenburg by the representative of the Altenburg city command, Lieutenant W. A. According to documents, a large quantity of seating furniture, tables, mirrors, paintings, vases, candlesticks, and a silver table centerpiece with 176 pieces were handed over. The furnishings came from various rooms in Altenburg Castle, including 2 paintings (untitled), 2 silver table centerpieces from around 1850, one marble sculpture (Cupid), six mirrors, 157 pieces of furniture from the 17th and 18th centuries, six columns with Japanese wooden vases, and two tall candelabras (Venetian glass, circa 1700).
