Description
Rectangular target depicting a gathering of six gentlemen around a laid table, joined by a messenger or servant. At the top left is a target, beneath which is a note: “Carl [Wilhelm?] Gallasch 1822”. Below is the partially illegible caption: „… scheint denn die Göttliche … noch freundlich / dieses wird doch aller unser Wunsch seyn.“
Provenance
Formerly the Guben City Museum. Parts of the collection were apparently evacuated to Kossar (today: Kosierz) in 1942/43. The part of the collection that remained in Guben is said to have been looted between 1945 and 1948 and has been considered lost ever since.
