Two putti figures to the left and right of the main motif of a fireplace screen. The figure on the right is looking downwards and holding a flower upwards with his right arm. The figure on the left is depicted half reclining and looking down to the left.
Provenance
Presumably purchased in 1719 for wedding celebrations. It was kept in the audience chamber of the royal palace; As part of the 1924 settlement agreement between the Free State of Saxony and the former royal house, the fireplace screen with the figure on top fell to the Free State of Saxony as room inventory; Presumably in August 1943, the fireplace screen was removed to Rammenau Palace due to the war; The further whereabouts of the figure on top are not known; A loss in connection with the events of the Second World War is suspected.
