Description
At a lake surrounded by rocky shores in the middle of the picture a high group of trees rises on the left. On the water two big boats and a barge. Below the group of trees next to three sheep, a woman is sitting, with her back to the viewer, playing the guitar; next to her is a hunter with dogs. Further back a farmer's wife, carrying a bundle on a stick over her shoulder, two children and two grazing sheep. On the right, leaning against a wooden fence, a shepherd, in front of him a white shaggy dog; on the right a woman, further back another one with a basket on her head. Sheep grazing near the water. On a hill a ruined castle with a slender tower; in the background blue mountains. Yellowish slightly cloudy evening air. Inscribed lower right: L. Richter. 1834.
