Description
on a richly carved base on a lotus blossom stands Buddha, the right hand raised with three fingers stretched upwards, the left lowered in the same gesture, behind him the oval, open-work, wood-carved gloriole. The inside of the shrine is gilded, the outside is black lacquered with engraved bronze fittings. Japan, 18th century
