Description
On the left, Mary kneels at an altar and turns with a surprised gesture towards the figure of Christ appearing to her right. This figure, only partially enveloped in a white cloth, the fluttering ends of which serve as a background to his body, has stretched out his right hand in blessing and is pointing upwards with his left. In the foreground next to the altar, on which a cross with a crown of thorns hanging over it has been placed, lie several books and an open tome with a quotation from the first chapter of Lucä and the 20th of John in Dutch. On the right in the foreground at the feet of Christ the instruments of torture. Inscribed on the left side of the leaf
