Description
Catalogue Lange, 1939: Hercules fighting the centaur Nessus. Black lacquer patina. The hero stands broad-legged over the back of the collapsed centaur, pulling back its head with his left hand; in his right he swings his club. After a marble group by Giovanni da Bologna from 1599 in the Loggia dei Lanzi in Florence.
