Tiergartenstraße in the Rain

This painting was probably among the original owners’ household goods, which were stored in 1938 with the freight forwarder Harry W. Hamacher, Berlin (formerly Brasch & Rothenstein) to be shipped to San Francisco. In July 1941, the Berlin Gestapo asked the Finanzamt Moabit-West to auction off these goods. Most of the goods were sold on August 19-23, 1941 by Alfred Berkhan, Berlin (Spichernstrasse 3) on behalf of the Finanzamt Moabit-West.
