Description
Old gold frame. Artist is also known as Aleksey or Aleksei Antropov. Unsigned but notation on back reads "A Antropoff".
Provenance
Permission was denied for shipment of the family’s art works, so their art collection was packed in boxes, sent to a forwarding agent and confiscated by the Nazis some time after November 11, 1941 when the family fled Hamburg for the United States via Portugal.
