Provenance
Claimants’ grandfather owned a large art collection in Holland; several of which were deposited for safekeeping at the Wacker-Bondy warehouse at 236 Blvd. Raspail in Paris and stolen/confiscated between 1940-1942. Most likely sold in Lucerne, Switzerland in the early 1950s to Paul Wallraf of London and Venice. From there, it entered the collection of the dealer Leonard Koetser (in 1958 possibly) and then subsequently passed to his son David Koetser.
