Description
A CHOICE GUBBIO RUBY LUSTRE TONDINO, by Maestro Giorgio, superbly decorated in the gold lustred sunk centre with a hand (Jupiter) in pale blue and ruby holding thunderbolts in rich ruby lustre, the everted blue rim with trofei and scrolling flowers in white, gold and ruby lustre, the underside with concentric circles and a pseudo kufic inscribed border, circa 1525

Munich, loss 1938;

The collection (approx. 440 works) was confiscated by the SS in Munich in 1938 on the occasion of the ‘Reichskristallnacht’ and auctioned at Sotheby's in London in 1939 (7/8 June and 19/20 July).
